Misic’s buzzer beater
Aris were in the lead at the Toumba and the stage was set for them to break PAOK’s undefeated record. But Josip Misic had other ideas. The Croatian’s strike to salvage a draw is the winner of the Regency Casino Best Goal of September award.
Josip Misic has started the season strongly. In September, he was simply excellent in all areas. The highlight, though, was undoubtedly the amazing last-gasp goal he scored against Aris at the Toumba.
Aris were leading in the match and were set to leave the Toumba with all three points and end our unbeaten record. But the Croatian struck in the 97th minute of the match to rescue a point – and our record. Douglas sent over a great cross and Misic instinctively fired in a shot on the volley to make the final score 2-2.
In the poll organized by paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, in collaboration with Regency Casino, the Double-headed Eagle of the North’s midfielder won the Best Goal for September with 64.2% of the vote. The award is his second of the month after he was also awarded the 11888 MVP award for September.
Matos’ excellent strike against Atromitos in Peristeri came in second place, and Jose Angel Crespo’s superb header also in Peristeri came third.
