Under-17’s defeat Larissa 5-1
The Under-17 side continued their “hot” streak in sweltering conditions at Souroti on Saturday. PAOK overcame Larissa by a 5-1 scoreline, chalking up a fourth consecutive victory which saw them move top of the standings with 12 points. Aris are second two points behind with 10 points, and the two Thessaloniki rivals face each other in the next round of fixtures.
Karakoutis opened the scoring for PAOK after 25 minutes, netting after an assist from Smirli. Then came three goals from Babouras, who made it 2-0 in the 44th minute (with an assist coming from Spiridopoulos), and 3-0 a minute later (assist by Kitsakis), before finally completing his hat-trick in the 50th minute to make it 4-0 (assist by Koutentakis). Babouras was not done there, however, he also provided the assist for Darela to make it 5-0 after 71 minutes. Larissa bagged a consolation goal just moments later though to make the scores 5-1, but it came as too little too late for the visitors.
