Under-19 derby ends in 0-0 stalemate
The Under-19’s Super League Matchday 4 derby match against Aris ended in a goalless draw on Saturday.
In a match full of tension, passion and tough tackling with a flurry of interruptions, the two teams couldn’t find a route to goal and had to settle for a point.
Both sides began the game strongly and each contrived to miss a good early chance to score, but there were no further scoring chances for either side for the remainder of the first half.
After the restart, PAOK took control of the game, moving the ball around well and searching for a goal, but apart from a half-chance after 76 minutes there was little goal threat. PAOK’s chances of going on to win were then dealt a blow when Michalidis was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.
Aris applied some pressure in the final stages of the match, but the home side held firm defensively to claim the point.
PAOK lineup:
Talichmanidis, Kaloutsikidis, Grosdis, Michailidis, Giaxis, Tsiggaras, Tsopouroglou, (83′ Theodoridis), Doumtsis, Pournaras (65′ Koutsioas), Tzolis, Panidis (46′ Tachatos).
