Groin Pain in Fooball | From A-Z: Day 1
The New Media of the “Double-Headed Eagle” bring you all the action from the first day of the Medical Conference “Groin Pain in Football | From A to Z, held in the Velidio Convention Centre.
After the welcome speeches of conference host and PAOK FC head of medical services Μanolis Papakostas, PAOK FC Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer Chrysostomos Gagatsis, PSAP president Giorgos Bantis and president of Helexpo Board of Directors Αnastasios Tzikas, the conference kicked off.
On the first day, the participants analyzed the pubic inguinal pain syndrome, discussing the anatomy of the area, the pathophysiology of the injury and the biological mechanisms affecting it. They also reported similar injuries suffered by an athlete and, in the end, they analyzed how a team should approach the issue when their athlete/s suffers such an injury.
On Friday, the conference will deal with injury treatment and prepping an athlete to return to action. On Saturday, the participants will hold a workshop in Nea Mesimvria.
