U19s thrash Apollon in Athens
PAOK U19s enjoyed some shooting practice in the second half of their game in Athens and saw off Apollon Smyrnis with a 4-0 win.
They clinched the league title a while back, however the pupils of Pablo García and Mirosław Sznaucner are not taking their foot off the throttle. Apollon Smyrnis are the latest victim and the 4-0 scoreline speaks for itself.
PAOK players were in command in the first half, wasted quite a few opportunities but failed to break the deadlock. At the same time though, they kept their rivals at bay, Apollon being unable to fire a single shot on target.
The complexion of the encounter changed after the interval. Michailidis collected Tsaousis’s assist in the 48th minute to poke the ball home for the opener. Seven minutes later, Panidis teed up Gaitanidis for a 2-0 lead. Panidis turned to scorer at the stroke of the hour, set up by Diamantis. Doumtsis added the icing on the cake during stoppage time, when he won a duel and unleashed a shot to make it 4-0 for the Thessaloniki side.
