PAOK youngsters excel with Greece
With the talented youngsters of PAOK in their ranks, Greece U17s qualified for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals, to be held in the Republic of Ireland from 3 to 19 May.
For their last match in Group 5 of the Elite Round, Greece defeated Kosovo 2-0, reached 6 points and qualified behind Spain, as one of the seven runners-up with the best records against the teams first and third in their section.
Both goals were scored by Christos Tzolis. He converted the spot kick he earned for the opener and then made it 2-0 teed up by clubmate Vasilis Grosdis. Five PAOK players were in the starting line-up of Greece: Thomas Karamperis, Christos Tzolis, Aventis Aventisian, Vasilis Grosdis and Giannis Karakoutis. Panagiotis Panagiotou and Κonstantinos Balomenos are also members of Greece U17 squad.
