PAOK U19s crowned champions in Xanthi

The U19 side of the “Double-Headed Eagle” recorded their 22th win in 23 encounters in Xanthi and secured the league title with seven matches left on the calendar.

Xanthi added themselves to the list of teams unable to slow down the pupils of Pablo García and Mirosław Sznaucner in this season’s Super League Souroti U19.

The first half of the encounter in Xanthi was rather balanced, PAOK playing against the wind. Both sides created noteworthy opportunities to break the deadlock. Tzovaras and Tsaousis missed a great double chance in the 19th minute. Eight minutes later, Xanthi had a shot on woodwork following a free kick. The home side forced an excellent save out of Talichmanidis later on, while Tzovaras missed his shot from a favourable position in the 33rd minute. The first half ended without goals.
