Akpom’s slalom
Chuba Akpom became the second PAOK player, after Yevhen Shakhov, to challenge Alexandros Paschalakis’s dominance in the nak Play of the Month awards. His magical move against Olympiakos won him the February accolade.
The derby between PAOK and Olympiakos turned out a very one-sided affair. The “Double-Headed Eagle” saw off comfortably the visitors, who could only watch PAOK’s show, unable to stop the home players.
Chuba Akpom was one of the… unstoppables. The Englishman scored a breathtaking goal and served an assist in PAOK’s 3-1 victory over Olympiakos. However, it was another effort of his that stole the show.
AK47 has proved time and again that he is no ordinary forward. He multitasks during matches, like a Swiss knife for all lines. His excellent technical skills add to his versatility.
In the second half of the afore-mentioned match, he collected the ball near the half-line and charged forward for the counter. Two rivals rushed to stop him, but he remained unfazed. He left them behind with a stunning dribble and continued his jinking run.
This move was rewarded by the users of paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App with the nak Play of the Month award for February, getting a commanding 63,46% of the vote. The solo effort of Léo Matos in the Olympic Stadium of Athens against AEK took second place and Maurício’s sombrero in the encounter against Apollon Smyrni completed the podium.
