Photography is the medium that makes a moment immortal, the perfect way to record facts and emotions. In recent years, PAOK FC invest on photography and Νikos Ververidis follows the team’s tracks on a daily basis. His pictures bring you every activity of your favourite players, as displayed in paokfc.gr and the “Double-Headed Eagle’s” New Media.

One of these pictures landed our photographer an important distinction. Dimitris Pelkas is hugging the Greek Cup trophy and brings it in the dressing room of the Olympic Stadium of Athens, following the triumph over AEK Athens in the final. Nikos was there and pressed the shutter button, capturing the moment.

This breathtaking picture was submitted, along with 400 more by 47 photographers, to the 2nd Photo-reporting Contest Exhibition of Greece (named “PRESS photostories”), organized by the Cultural Foundation of Journalists’ Union of Makedonia-Thrace Daily Newspapers (ESIEMTH).

The photo of Pelkas won the “Sports” category of the contest. It was chosen, along with another photo from the Greek Cup final ( Adelino Vieirinha venting his emotions against an advertising board after his outstanding goal), to feature in the exhibition to be held in the Conference Centre of Piraeus Bank (Katouni 12-14, Ladadika) from 15 to 30 March 2019.

Prizes and accolades will be presented to their recipients during the inauguration of the exhibition, on Friday 15 March (the event starts at 18:30).
