Focusing on the next “final”
PAOK players expected the Peristeri match to be difficult. A derby between the leading teams of this season’s Super League race…
The encounter did prove demanding. This time around, details didn’t rule in favour of PAOK. The ball wouldn’t go in, big chances were wasted and PAOK dropped points for the first time in the season.
The fact that a draw in such a match is considered as dropped points by PAOK people is indicative of their mentality and their high standards.
The encounter against Atromitos is in the past though and the “Double-Headed Eagle” are bracing for yet another “final” – a European one. The away match against Vidi has become highly important after the two sides’ recent meeting and PAOK have to win in Hungary.
The players who featured against Atromitos did recuperation and decompression work on Sunday. Alexandros Paschalakis sustained a knee strike in the left quadriceps during the match. He did physiotherapy and his condition will be evaluated in upcoming days.
Maurício followed part of normal training and then continued his recovery program. The rest of the players worked on their physical condition and ball passing.
Monday’s training session is scheduled to begin at 17:00 in Nea Mesimvria installations.
