PAOK Academy off to Stockholm and Marseille

PAOK Academy seal May with the participation of two sides in demanding international tournaments. U13s travel to Sweden for Lennart Johansson tournament, while the U9s head for Marseille, for the Pitchoun’s Cup.

U13s in Lennart Johansson tournament

PAOK Academy are always present in the renowned Lennart Johansson tournament in Sweden. This time around, their U13 side will be in Stockholm from 25 to 28 May. PAOK have been drawn in Group B, along with Galatasaray SK, Leicester City FC, Odense BK and VJS.

In the beginning of the season, last September, PAOK U13s won the Lukoil Cup in Bulgaria.

The expedition of PAOK U13s consists of the following players: Christos Almyras, Vasilios Petridis, Spyridon Angelidis, Gustavo Varela, Panagiotis Theodosiadis, Konstantinos Goumas, Nikolaos Mavris, Athanasios Panagiotidis, Konstantinos Ignatiou, Dimitrios Kottas, Charalampos Georgiadis, Nikolaos Deligiannis, Georgios Ganopoulos, Georgios Kampouris, Christos Kosidis, Angelos Papadopoulos, Ioannis-Efrem Fotadis Tsoleridis, Dimitrios Papaevangelou.

Players are accompanied by coaches Theofilos Chatzistathis and Savvas Konstantinidis, the technical director of PAOK Academy Dani Alsina and doctor Giorgos Chatziathanasiou.

PAOK U9s in Marseille

The U9 side of the “Double-Headed Eagle” have been invited to participate in the Pitchoun’s Cup, in Marseille, from 25 to 27 May.

A total of 48 teams will feature in the tournament, including youth sides of Arsenal FC, AFC Ajax, Manchester United FC, Manchester City FC, Sevilla FC, Juventus FC, AS Roma, FC Internazionale Milano, Paris Saint-Germain FC, AS Monaco, SV Werder Bremen.

PAOK have been included in Group B –the participating sides have been split in six groups of 8 teams each. Each team will play 7 matches of 14-minute duration. The top two teams of each group and the four best third-placed sides will advance to the finals.

PAOK U9s will play against: Manchester City FC, AS Roma, Olympique de Marseille, FC Lugano, Stade de Reims, Burel FC and AS Gémenos.

The U9 side of the “Double-Headed Eagle” recently participated in the Mundialito tournament in Barcelona and got 2nd place.

PAOK U9 squad consists of: Argyris Argyriou, Stefanos Aivazoglou, Kyriakos Tounousidis, Athanasios Filippiadis, Marios Kalpakidis, Marios Matera, Fabio Refatlari, Nikolaos Chaldezos, Konstantinos Souvlatzis, Christos Danidis.

Players are accompanied by coaches Nikos Nikolaidis, Alexandros Foropoulos and Stelios Tsaxirlis and psychologist Irini Rera.
