Something like football, comeback and smiles [photos]
Those who came to watch a football match of high quality, tactics and technique, probably were in the wrong place. Those who expected non-stop fun, killer one-liners and intense emotions got exactly what they wanted. The 4th 11v11 encounter “Live the Toumba experience” was arguably the most dramatic of all, as the Blues dug deep and snatched victory away from the Greys…
Don’t be fooled by the setting resembling a normal football match. Not even close! Toumba Stadium hosted two teams consisting of… non-so-sporty amateurs, who will rave for ever about this unique experience.
PAOK FC in cooperation with their sponsors organized the 11v11 – “Live the Toumba experience” for the 4th time. Fans of the “Double-Headed Eagle” were given the opportunity to step into the players’ shoes and spend an unforgettable afternoon.
Greys and Blues fought each other for 50 minutes and… solved their differences via a penalty shoot-out. The Greys started strongly into the encounter and prevailed in the first half. They scored three times with high-flying Tenekentzis and thought it was a done deal. Βut they paid for their arrogance after the interval.
The Blues didn’t throw in the towel. On the contrary, they became more passionate and leveled the encounter. They even created two opportunities to turn the match completely around in the dying minutes. But the match ended in draw, therefore it was decided from the spot.
The Blues proved calmer, prevailed 3-2 and celebrated like crazy in the centre of the pitch.
The battle between the two benches also stole the show. The “Double-Headed Eagle” scout Makis Kosmidis took goalkeeping coach of PAOK Academy Dimitris Kryonas by surprise in the first half. His players however collapsed in the second half and eventually lost.
