PAOK U15s raring to win repeat title
A four-year streak came to an end this season, as PAOK meet a different opponent in the Super League U15 final. The “Double-Headed Eagle” record their fifth consecutive presence in the title-deciding game, while Panathinaikos feature at this stage for the first time.
The fifth Super League U15 final will be held on Saturday 21 April at 17:00 in DAK Lamia, between PAOK and Panathinaikos.
PAOK have won the league title twice (in 2014-15 in Chania and in 2016-17 in Larissa). They also lost twice, both times to Olympiakos (2013-14 in Agrinio and 2015-16 in Ioannina).

PAOK secured top spot in their group earlier than ever, with a total of 42 points in 16 encounters and just two defeats (at Ioannina and Xanthi). PAS Giannina finished second in the group with 28 points, Panetolikos got 23, Xanthi 22 and AOK Kerkyra 1 point.
In Group A, after 18 encounters, Panathinaikos led the pack with 45 points. The rest: Olympiacos 41, Atromitos 28, AEK Athens 26, Panionios 19 and Platanias 0 points.
The “Double-Headed Eagle” were very productive as well. They netted 52 goals (with several of their players on the scorers’ sheet) and conceded 11. Konstantelias was PAOK’s top scorer with 9 goals, Koutsias scored 8 times, Manesidis netted 7. Konstantelias also led the assists’ chart with 9 decisive passes, Karakoutis and Kitsakis trailing with 5 assists. As for minutes played, Karakoutis featured for 980 minutes, Kitsakis for 871 and Theodoridis for 791.

PAOK U15s are familiar with finals. They won the Macedonia Clubs’ Union league in 2015-16 and prevailed in the IFK international tournament in Göteborg in the beginning of the current season. As U13, this generation of players took third place at the Lennart Johansson tournament.
Just two weeks ago, PAOK U15s participated in a demanding tournament in Antalya and returned from Turkey with a 5th-place finish. After Saturday’s league final, the youngsters will gear up for two interesting experiences. In May they will take part in the European Challenge tournament in Lyon and, in June, they will travel to the Netherlands for the Marveld Tournament.
- PAOK’s expedition will leave on Friday morning from Toumba Stadium and in the evening the players will train in Lamia
- The final will consist of two 40-minute halves
