Moulin signs for PAOK

PAOK FC announce the signing of Thibault Moulin from Legia Warszawa. The French midfielder signed a three-year contract.

31.01.2018

Born on 13 January 1990 in Flers, France, he started playing football for the local club and then moved to the youth system of SM Caen. On 11 September 2010 he made his top-flight debut in an encounter against AJ Auxerre. He penned his first professional contract in February 2011 and was called to the France U19 national squad. In his first season as senior, he played in 18 games before being shipped on loan to LB Châteauroux.

Despite his young age, he had a prominent role in the Ligue 2 outfit and completed the season with 4 goals and 2 assists in 31 games (all competitions included). In the following season he returned to SM Caen, by then at Ligue 2, and played in 22 encounters, scoring once and serving two assists.

In the summer of 2013, Clermont Foot announced his signing and he became a regular there from day one. In his first season at the Clermont-Ferrand club, he featured in 34 games (3 goals and 1 assist) and continued on the same pace the following year (2 goals and 2 assists in 35 encounters).

In the summer of 2015 he signed for Waasland-Beveren on a free transfer. Moving to Belgium helped him improve further. In 33 games (almost 3.000 minutes played), he scored 4 goals and produced 10 assists.

His eye-catching performances led to various suitors knocking on the Belgian club’s door. Legia Warszawa won the race and signed him in the summer of 2016. He didn’t take the foot off the throttle and went on to score 3 goals and serve 7 assists in 45 encounters in his first season in Poland, with Aleksandar Prijović among his team-mates. Moulin’s highlight that season was his outstanding goal against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League group stage, set up by Prijović. In May 2017 he celebrated the Polish league title, having contributed considerably in this feat.

In the current season, he featured in 26 games (3 goals and 1 assist) for Legia, before deciding to make the next step in his career, by accepting PAOK’s challenge.
