There were always high expectations accompanying him, ever since he put on the blank-and-white shirt of the “Double-Headed Eagle” for the first time. He has been improving non-stop and he is earning a spot among the team’s leaders.

Dimitris Pelkas was outstanding in December and helped his team to an ideal finish of the first round of fixtures in the league. He lined up some magnificent performances, especially the one against Panathinaikos. In that match, he scored two of PAOK’s four goals, the first one landing him the honour of Regency Casino Best Goal of December.

In the poll organized by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App, Pelkas was voted by 59,56% of the users and earned the 11888 MVP of December accolade, for the second time this season (after his September trophy).

Fernando Varela got second place. The centre back from Cape Verde was excellent throughout 2017’s last month and led the black-and-white rearguard. Dimitris Limnios completes the podium. He got more opportunities and took advantage of them, vindicating his coach for trusting in him.
