U9s invited to Marseille
The minnows of PAOK are eagerly awaiting their first important trip abroad. The U9 side of the “Double-Headed Eagle”, coached by Nikos Nikolaidis, has been invited to Pitchoun’s Cup, to be held in Marseille on 25-26 May 2018.
The tournament boasts the participation of 48 clubs, including Arsenal FC, AFC Ajax, Manchester United FC, Manchester City FC, Sevilla FC, Juventus FC, AS Roma, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain FC, AS Monaco, SV Werder Bremen.
PAOK belong in the 2nd group. There will be six groups of eight teams each. Each team will get to play against all their group opponents, at least seven encounters of 14-minute duration. The top two of each group and the four third-placed teams with the best record will qualify for the finals.
The draw was held on 20 December and PAOK were situated in a group including Manchester City FC, AS Roma, Olympique de Marseille, FC Lugano, Stade Reims, Burel FC and AS Gemenos.
