“I want to give PAOK what they deserve”
He returned to Thessaloniki to take care of an unfinished job –to win a trophy with PAOK or rather to help the team bring the league trophy to Toumba Stadium. Róbert Mak leaves the past behind and focuses on the future.
The Slovakian attacking midfielder conceded an interview in Toumba Magazine Special Edition, available at PAOK FC Official Store, store.paokfc.gr, IANOS bookstores, all press stands in Northern Greece, at “Makedonia” KTEL station, at “Makedonia” Airport, at “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport of Athens, at OSE Thessaloniki. The official site of PAOK (paokfc.gr) brings you some of his answers:
Starting with the circumstances that led to his departure from Toumba, after everything that happened in that Greek Cup semi-final against Olympiacos. “It’s been a while and one forgets with time”, Mak said, adding: “I see definite improvement in the league and the refereeing performances. They haven’t reached 100% yet, but they are on the right track. I believe that the events of Toumba that day prompted that change. That is why I wanted to return and finish the job we started, win the league title with PAOK, something our fans have been craving for years”.
Mak tried to describe what PAOK means to him and analyze the reasons behind his comeback: “I can’t describe it. It’s within me, it’s in my heart. All my memories and what I lived here brought me back. Nothing tops playing in Toumba in front of our fans. I wanted to return and got my wish”.
Regarding personal and team aspirations, the Slovakian international player said: “I just want to do my job as best as possible. I want to score and be happy, make our fans and our team happy. I came to celebrate the league title with these people and give them what they deserve. That is what whole Thessaloniki are waiting for. I will do my best, the whole team will, in order to achieve that feat. We have a long way ahead of us. PAOK may have won the Greek Cup, but everyone now expects the league. As all teams, we have good and bad days. For me, there is nothing better than achieving one’s goals”.
On Wednesday noon, at 12:00, Róbert Mak will be in IANOS Bookstore in Aristotelous Square, in order to sign your Toumba Magazine Special Edition.
