Östersunds FK concede a late draw

Östersunds FK edged out a 1-1 draw away at GIF Sundsvall for matchday 18 of the Swedish league.

06.08.2017

Graham Potter fielded a 4-4-2 formation with Keita as his goalkeeper. Mukiibi and Widgren occupied the right and left back respectively, while Papagiannopoulos and Pettersson played in the centre of the defence. Nouri and Bachirou were the midfield duet, Edwards featured as interior right and Kpozo as interior left. The attack consisted of Bojanić and Ghoddos.

PAOK’s next European rival were the livelier team at the early stages of the encounter, dominated possession and created more chances to score. The first half was rather uneventful. Right after the interval though, Östersunds FK took a deserved lead, with a direct free kick by Bojanić.

They attempted to hold on to their narrow win until the end, but were deprived of the three-pointer in the 88th minute, due to an erroneous refereeing decision. The ref pointed to the penalty spot for a foul clearly conceded out of the box. Danielsson held his nerve, converted the spot kick and Potter’s troops had to content themselves with the draw point.

Östersunds FK: Keita, Mukiibi, Papagiannopoulos, Pettersson, Widgren, Nouri, Bachirou, Edwards, Kpozo (73′ Somi), Bojanić (65′ Gero), Ghoddos (65′ Hopcutt).
