Dorian Lévêque joins PAOK

PAOK FC announce the signing of Dorian Lévêque on a free transfer from EA Guingamp. The Frenchman signed a three-year deal with the “Double-Headed Eagle”.

19.06.2017

Dorian Lévêque was born on 22 November 1989 in Hyères, in the south of France. He started his career at amateur club FC Annecy. He stood out almost immediately and in 2006 he was signed by US Boulogne. He featured for their B team at first and had to wait four years for his professional debut.

He made his maiden appearance in Ligue 1 in an encounter against Olympique Lyonnais on 7 March 2010 and completed the season having played in 8 matches. Back then he featured as holding midfielder, but wasn’t feeling comfortable in that position. In the summer of 2010 he decided to leave US Boulogne for EA Guingamp, who were competing in France’s third tier.

In his first season in Bretagne, he established himself in the starting line-up and conjured up 2 goals in 40 matches. His side missed out on promotion two seasons in a row. In his second season there, he played in 26 encounters due to some injuries.

At the start of 2012-13, the Frenchman was diagnosed with a rare ankle condition that kept him sidelined for almost the entire season. It took him considerable effort and determination to get over his injury and even managed to play in the last four matches of the season. The Bretagne outfit managed to get promoted to the Ligue 1, finishing second behind AS Monaco.

Upon his return to France’s top tier, Lévêque was a regular in an astonishing season for EA Guingamp that saw them triumph in the French Cup. The left full-back featured in 22 encounters and played a leading role as his side secured their European ticket.

In 2014-15, he improved on his stats with one goal and one assist in 26 games, while also making his UEFA Europa League debut, against PAOK! The departure of head coach Jocelyn Gourvennec and some minor injuries cost him his place in the line-up and prompted him to continue his career abroad. The “Double-Headed Eagle” presents a new challenge in his career.

Welcome, Dorian!
