Repeat Best Goal award for Pelkas
Dimitris Pelkas’s direct free-kick paved the way for PAOK to turn around the Greek Cup semi-final tie against Panathinaikos and was voted Regency Casino Best Goal of April by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App users.
Dimitris Pelkas did it again. After prevailing in the Regency Casino Best Goal of March poll, he won the April accolade as well. That strike also lifted him to third place of PAOK scorers in the current season, with 7 goals to his name.
The “Double-Headed Eagle” needed to come back from a 2-0 defeat by Panathinaikos in Leoforos in order to seal their passage to the Greek Cup final. They didn’t start well the second leg and the Greens were pressuring in the first minutes. But Dimitris Pelkas came to set the match on fire, giving PAOK the lead with a stunning direct free-kick.
In the poll organized by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App for Regency Casino Best Goal of April, the young player’s strike got first place with 49,6% of the vote. The excellent effort, both creation- and execution-wise, of Aleksandar Prijović against AOK Kerkyra was second, while Diego Biseswar’s goal against Atromitos in Peristeri placed third.
