Pelkas’s buzzer beater voted Best Goal
The winner scored by Dimitris Pelkas against Panionios in Toumba Stadium was voted Regency Casino Best Goal of March by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App users.
Without being among those with more minutes on the pitch, Dimitris Pelkas has managed to include himself among PAOK’s most “lethal” players. He has netter six goals so far, his most recent one offering him his first individual accolade for the current season.
The timing of his effort was crucial as well, as he secured three points for PAOK in their home match against Panionios. The clash for second place was tough, without many goalscoring chances. But Pelkas turned the tide. In practically the last second, he scored the winner from close range, following Léo Matos’s cross from the right and a headed pass by Giannis Mystakidis.
In the poll organized by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App for Regency Casino Best Goal of March, the young player’s strike got first place with 48,22% of the vote. The excellent collective effort that brought Aleksandar Prijović’s goal against Olympiacos was second, while Yevhen Shakhov’s goal in the same match was third.
