U15s lost to Inter

PAOK U15s succumbed to Inter in their second game in ”We Love Football” tournament currently held in Bologna (12-17 April). Despite their fine performance with several chances to score and a shot on woodwork, the “Double-Headed Eagle” lost 4-2. Friday’s game against US Sassuolo Calcio will decide if the Greek side will make it to the next round.

The Italians scored the opener after five minutes of play and PAOK leveled ten minutes later with Altintzis. Inter regained their lead in the 27th minute and soon after scored a third. Karamperis reduced distances in the 55th minute from the spot, but the Italian side restored their two-goal lead two minutes later.

“We Love Football” is a highly competitive tournament and, this season around, Juventus FC, AC Milan, FC Inter, AS Roma, SV Werder Bremen, Everton FC, Club Atlético de Madrid, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg and SE Palmeiras have all confirmed their presence. Last season, PAOK U15s took 2nd place, losing to Atlético de Madrid.

PAOK have been drawn in Group C, alongside FC Inter, RSC Anderlecht and US Sassuolo Calcio. The fixtures are as follows: Holy Wednesday 12.04, Anderlecht – PΑΟΚ 11.00 (Greek time), Holy Thursday 13.04, PΑΟΚ – Ιnter 11.00 (Greek time) and Holy Friday 14.04, Sassuolo – PAOK 15.30 (Greek time).

Quarter-finals are scheduled for Holy Saturday 15.04. The semis and the final will be held on Holy Saturday and Monday 17.04 respectively in Renato Dall’Ara.
