U15s defeat Anderlecht 2-1

First match, first victory for the U15s in “We Love Football” tournament that is being held in Bologna from 12 to 17 April. PAOK meant business from minute one and prevailed 2-1 over RSC Anderlecht.

Grosdis gave PAOK the lead in the 13th minute and, six minutes later, Aventisian made it 2-0 with a masterful direct free-kick. Anderlecht reduced distances in the 55th minute. On Thursday morning, PAOK face Inter.

“We Love Football” is a highly competitive tournament and, this season around, Juventus FC, AC Milan, FC Inter, AS Roma, SV Werder Bremen, Everton FC, Club Atlético de Madrid, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg and SE Palmeiras have all confirmed their presence. Last season, PAOK U15s took 2nd place, losing to Atlético de Madrid.

PAOK have been drawn in Group C, alongside FC Inter, RSC Anderlecht and US Sassuolo Calcio. The fixtures are as follows: Holy Wednesday 12.04, Anderlecht – PΑΟΚ 11.00 (Greek time), Holy Thursday 13.04, PΑΟΚ – Ιnter 11.00 (Greek time) and Holy Friday 14.04, Sassuolo – PAOK 15.30 (Greek time).

Quarter-finals are scheduled for Holy Saturday 15.04. The semis and the final will be held on Holy Saturday and Monday 17.04 respectively in Renato Dall’Ara.
