Tselios scored the opener for PAOK in the 10th minute, but Xanthi equalized three minutes later. From then on however, it was all black-and-white on the pitch. Altintzis restored PAOK’s lead in the 30th minute and Aventisian made it 3-1 from the spot nine minutes later, converting the penalty earned by Altintzis.

Four minutes into the second half, Grosdis teed up Tsopouroglou for PAOK’s fourth goal from close range. Karamperis’s sensational strike made it 5-1 for the “Double-Headed Eagle” in the 52nd minute following an excellent through-ball by Sapountzis. Tselios completed his brace in the 54th minute and Saregos added a seventh goal in the 66th minute. Xanthi could only reduce distances at stoppage time.
