Stelios Malezas extends his deal with PAOK
PAOK FC announce they extended the contract of experienced midfielder Stelios Malezas for 1+1 seasons.
Stelios Malezas joined PAOK in 2003 as a hopeful defender of Pontii Katerini and went on to feature in UEFA Euro and FIFA World Cup final stages. In between, he spent one season on loan at Irodotos in order to get more playing time. He was much improved upon his return and made his PAOK debut in January 2006 in an encounter against Xanthi.
Thanks to his hardworking nature, he gradually managed to established himself and become a full international for Greece. In the summer of 2012, after his best and fullest season, he chose to try out something different.
He signed for Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Düsseldorf and stayed there for two seasons. He experienced relegation to the second tier, but collected invaluable experience in the process. He came back to Greece in 2014 and joined Panetolikos. Three years away from Toumba however proved too much for him and, in 2015, he returned home.
He has a total of 207 appearances and 4 goals for PAOK. In his professional career, he has conjured up 6 goals in a total of 307 games.
