PAOK Action – International Childhood Cancer Day
February 15 is International Childhood Cancer Day. The reported worldwide incidence of childhood cancer has increased to 250.000 cases annually, with just 20% of them having access to appropriate treatment. In Greece, 300 new cases of childhood cancer –mainly leukemia- are reported every year.
Our young heroes, who suffer of various types of cancer, were treated to a special visit on Wednesday.
Pablo García, Κostas Iosifidis as well as PAOK U20 players Κonstantinos Dimitriou, Αntonis Stathopoulos and Konstantinos Chatzidimpas visited the Paediatric Oncology Department of AHEPA Hospital. They spoke to their young fans, giving out many presents and smiles.
The members of PAOK FC Youth and Development sections as well as those of PAOK Action took a tour of the installations, learned about the activity of the clinic by the staff who expressed their gratitude for the contribution of the “Double-Headed Eagle” and of Ivan Savvidis who has been supporting the Clinic’s efforts.
Strategic advisor of PAOK Action Mr Anastasios Osipidis said: «PAOK FC have come to AHEPA Hospital today to offer love, joy and smiles to the patients of a clinic fighting for life and giving life. For years now, Ivan Savvidis has been supporting the important efforts of this clinic away from the spotlights and will continue doing so”.
