The U20 side of the “Two-Headed Eagle” wrapped up 2016 with an away victory over Levadiakos for Super League matchday 1.

The “black-and-whites” dominated the encounter right from the start, launching numerous attacks on the home side’s goal. Levadiakos held firm for just 15 minutes, as Tzovaras took advantage of a loose ball in their opponents’ box and netted the opener. In the 34th minute, the same player doubled PAOK’s advantage.

After the interval, the “Two-Headed Eagle” showed no signs of slowing down and Levadiakos were desperately trying to come out of their box and find counterattacking space. The encounter became livelier with action at both ends of the pitch. Chatzistravos was denied by the woodwork after an impressive move. In the 75th minute, Tzovaras turned to provider with a fine cross. The ball was met by Papadopoulos whose header extended PAOK’s lead to 3-0.

In the 81st minute, Levadiakos was awarded a penalty in a foul committed by Dimitriou. Siampanis saved the shot, but the home side got the rebound and reduced distances to 1-3.
