Rodrigues’s buzzer beater lands Best Goal of November award
The winning goal against ACF Fiorentina in Florence was voted Regency Casino Best Goal of November in the poll held by paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App.
PAOK travelled to Italy with their back against the wall. Their only objective was to win in “Artemio Franchi” and keep their hopes of advancing to the UEFA Europa League knockout stage alive. They ended up proving that their name counts in European competition. They competed with passion and self-confidence against an excellent rival and ended up celebrating their first ever victory on Italian soil scoring the winner deep into stoppage time.
Garry Rodrigues was Man of the Match. The Cape Verde winger had a shot on woodwork, provided the assist for the second goal, was a constant threat for the Viola defenders and ended up deciding the encounters. In the 93rd minute, after a fine individual move, he got time and space to unleash a shot that beat Lezzerini.
In the poll held for Regency Casino Best Goal of November, Rodrigues’s goal against ACF Fiorentina had no rival. It landed the accolade with an overwhelming 85,34% of the vote. It’s the second time the Cape Verde player nets the Regency Casino Best Goal award, following his success in October as well. Rodrigues prevailed over Djalma Campos, while his strike against Atromitos landed third place.
