Glykos wins 11888 MVP award by a thread
October’s poll in paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App for 11888 MVP award of the month was yet another tight affair. This time around, Panagiotis Glykos won the accolade just like he lost the previous one: on the finish line.
In September, he was edged out by Giorgos Tzavellas for the MVP award for just a few votes. In October, he engaged in yet another close race, but this time he prevailed by a thread. Panagiotis GLykos was voted by 38,07% of those who participated in the 11888 MVP award poll, ahead of Stelios Malezas (37,6%), and is the 11888 MVP of October.
He is enjoying the best spell of his career. Calm, consistent and self-confident, he has earned the trust of Vladan Ivić and is arguably the best Greek goalkeeper right now. In the first three months of the season, he has lined up some outstanding performances and the fans acknowledge that.
In October, Stelios Malezas was called to fill in for injured Giorgos Tzavellas and passed the test with flying colours in very demanding encounters. Losing out on Glykos by such a small margin, is indicative of his displays.
Léo Matos got third place in the poll. Having already won the 11888 MVP award on Αugust and with impressive performances to show for, he is considered one of the best newcomers in the Super League. Consistent in defence and always dangerous upfront, he continued his high-level showings and helped the team secure a valuable three-pointer against AEK Athens in Toumba scoring the winner in the 95th minute.
