Qarabağ FK – PAOK: Mixed zone
Here is what Biseswar and Crespo told reporters after the final whistle of the encounter against Qarabağ FK.
Diego Biseswar, who came off the bench and tried to help out, spoke of a bad day and signalled the team’s intent to improve:
«We knew we were in for a tough match against a very good team. We didn’t play bad nor well. We weren’t lucky, it wasn’t our day. I hope we will play better in upcoming matches and score«.
José Ángel Crespo commented on the fact that he played alongside Varela in the centre of defence and insisted that the team lacked stamina in the final minutes:
«I don’t agree that our duo with Varela ended up giving the answers to Qarabağ. We did very well, but the whole team lacked in physical condition towards the end. Some things didn’t turn out as we planned them, we got sidetracked after minute 65. Nothing is lost. We will fight in the remaining games to qualify«.
