“Suicidal” U17s in Giannina
PAOK U17s threw away a three-goal lead against PAS Giannina. The troops of Vasilis Mittas and Vasilis Kanaras were held to a draw in Ipiros, despite having led 3-0 in the 34th minute.
Despite PAOK’s dominance on the pitch, their numerous wasted chances and their shot on woodwork in the 62nd minute, PAS Giannina found a way to level the match (3-3) due to three defensive errors of the “Double-Headed Eagle”.
PAOK took the lead in the 20th minute with a close-range shot by Gaitanidis, teed up by Lyratzis. Vrakas made it 2-0 with a direct free-kick, while Gaitanidis completed his brace in the 34th minute with a strike from outside the box.
One minute later, a defensive blunder of PAOK gave the hosts the opportunity to reduce distances. In the 80th minute, they made it 3-2 and, five minutes later, they earned a penalty and equalized from the spot.
