Regency Best Goal – First award for Leovac
Marin Leovac’s maiden goal for PAOK was a special one and was voted Regency Casino Best Goal of April.
The match against Levadiakos was a must-win affair, as PAOK needed victory in order to secure their participation in the play-offs. The Viotia outfit fielded 11 men behind the ball and had no attacking aspirations, yet they managed to trouble the “Double-Headed Eagle” for almost 80 minutes.
The solution was provided by a defender. Kace crossed from the right teeing up Marin Leovac who was lurking unmarked in the far post. He didn’t think it twice before unleashing a side volley that catapulted PAOK towards victory.
It was the maiden PAOK goal for the Croatian defender, who has been standing out recently with his performances. He picked up an injury in that match against Levadiakos, but he has already returned to action, considerably helping the team in the play-offs.
Leovac’s goal comfortably prevailed in the poll for Regency Casino Best Goal of April, handing the Croatian defender with his first individual award this season. Róbert Mak’s fine finish in the Levadiakos match took second place in the poll, while Alexandros Tziolis’s excellent header in Nea Smyrni was voted third.
