The captain is back
March was a month of ups and downs for PAOK. Stefanos Athanasiadis was the player who stood out and won the 11888 MVP award.
After a difficult patch that was aggravated by the loss to Panthrakikos in Komotini, the “Double-Headed Eagle” were aiming to recover their winning ways led by Vladan Ivić. It was exactly the time for the team captain to step up. Stefanos Athanasiadis produced his best performances for the season, scored and helped the team bounce back.
The season had started on the wrong foot for him with his toe injury. But Klaus remains effective and proved it by netting three goals in the two encounters against Panetolikos and AEL Kalloni.
In the poll for 11888 MVP for the month of March, Athanasiadis prevailed comfortably with 70% of the vote, leaving Μarin Leovac and Miguel Vítor behind. The latter has been one of the most consistent players of the team, while serving two assists for Klaus in the Agrinio match.
It was the second individual accolade for PAOK’s captain in the current season, as he had also won the Best Goal of November award.
