U20s suffer loss to Panionios

In a mediocre encounter held on the unplayable pitch of Glyfada, PAOK U20s failed to make their superiority count and lost 2-0 to Panionios for Super League matchday 28.

03.04.2016

The match went south right from the start for PAOK, as Panionios took the lead after eight minutes of play in a set piece. The goal boosted the home side, while the “Double-Headed Eagle” players were trying to react and took the reins of the encounter. However Panionios netted a second, following a fine combination and cold-blooded finish.

PAOK were determined to turn things around in the second half, but failed to create much danger in Panionios’s box. In the 60th minute, coach Mittas went for broke and introduced three players simultaneously. Bataev, Κligopoulos and Pouflis entered the match to boost the attack. Bataev was the one to create PAOK’s biggest chance but the rival goalkeeper produced a fine save and “Double-Headed Eagle” suffered their 4th defeat in 25 encounters.

PAOK U20: Muca, Τopalidis, Pantekidis, Τselepidis, Voutsas, Patralis, Κrayopoulos (60′ Κligopoulos), Dimitriadis, Rangelov (60′ Pouflis), Matheou (60′ Bataev), Syrakos.
