U15s prevail 2-1 over Ajax
PAOK U15s had an impressive debut in the We Love Football international tournament that is taking place in Bologna, defeating Ajax 2-1. They could have recorded a larger victory, had they been more clinical in four classic one-on-one situations. On Friday, PAOK come up against Atalanta.
Pournaras scored the opener for PAOK after 35 minutes of play, after an excellent team combination and a pin-point pass by Vrakas. Ajax leveled ten minutes later, but PAOK reacted immediately and regained their lead through Pournaras again, on an assist by Theodoridis. The “Double-Headed Eagle” went on to waste four great chances with Batalamas, Pournaras, Macheridis and Boumpas. On the other side of the pitch, apart from the goal they conceded, they were rarely bothered. Ajax became dangerous just once, in the 20th minute, but Talichmanidis intervened in time.
