PAOK started off strongly. After just 9 minutes of play, Patralis scored for a second consecutive match with a fine finish from the edge of the area. In the 20th minute, Syrakos provided the killer pass, but Μattheou mistimed his control and shot. The young Cypriot made up for this miss though in the 32nd minute. Teed-up beautifully by Patralis, he scored PAOK’s second goal.

AEL Kalloni took advantage of a defensive slip-up and reduced distances one minute later. But the “Double-Headed Eagle” were quick to reply as well. In the 36th minute, Κyrillidis set up Τopalidis for PAOK’s third goal.

The home side remained in total control of proceedings after the interval as well, looking to enhance their lead. In the 54th minute, following a corner by Dimitriadis and a first header by Pantekidis, Dimitriou struck the crossbar. Fifteen minutes later, Κakko, Dimitriadis and Rangelov bombarded Kalloni’s goal but failed to find the net.

Despite their healthy lead and their rivals’ inability to score, PAOK players were passionate in their quest for more goals. They got rewarded in the 78th minute, when Dimitriadis teed up Syrakos for the fourth goal. Topalidis netted an excellent goal from an angle to complete his brace and seal PAOK’s 5-1 victory.
