Ivan Savvidis’ message
On the occasion of Greece’s War of Independence Day, PAOK FC President Mr. Ivan Savvidis sent his own message via paokfc.gr:
Dear fellow Greeks!
Greeks all over the world celebrate on 25 March our national day, the Day of Greek Independence. The Greek revolution of 1821 liberated our country from the 400-year ottoman rule. Greek patriorts gave their lives, under the orthodox flag and inspired by their selfless love for the country. We kneel before all Greek heroes and all foreign friends of Greece who came at a crucial time to assist in the war.
Nowadays Greece is going through hardship, but we hope that common effort and Greeks all over the world will help our country overcome obstacles and return on the path of progress and prosperity.
On this day, I wish you and your families good health, happiness, prosperity and peace. I also wish the Greek people to remain united and show solidarity especially now, in these challenging times.
