Tactics and automatisms

Friday’s training session was all about football’s basic principles that Vladan Ivić wants to convey to his troops.

18.03.2016

The coach of PAOK wants to see his players adopt his own philosophy on attacking plays and general behaviour on the pitch and he insists on drills working on automatisms.

PAOK players practiced attacking deployment from the axis and the flanks and worked on their passing game and finishing. In the last part of the session, they rehearsed their tactics for the AEL Kalloni match.

Alexandros Tziolis remained in the gym due to a bruised big toe, but is expected to train normally on Saturday. The injury list is gradually getting smaller, as Panagiotis Glykos, Jairo and Garry Rodrigues follow normal training. Dimitar Berbatov, Gojko Cimirot and Dimitris Chatziisaias did physiotherapy and continued their recovery program.

Vladan Ivić cannot count on suspended Stelios Kitsiou and Róbert Mak for Sunday’s encounter. PAOK’s training session of Saturday is scheduled to start at 17:00 in Toumba Stadium and then the team will spend the night in Makedonia Palace hotel.
