“Valuable” Gojko Cimirot
It was a tough month, but ended on a good note. Who is PAOK’s 11888 MVP for February? Visitors of paokfc.gr voted for Gojko Cimirot.
On his first season at PAOK, the young Bosnian is displaying the characteristics that made PAOK move to sign him in the first place. He excels in his defensive duties as a “6” in front of the centre-backs, but can also feature as an “8”, dictating pace and assuming creative responsibilities.
In February, Gojko Cimirot was among PAOK’s most consistent players and a point of reference in midfield. He was very good in the derbies against Olympiacos and Panathinaikos and scored a stunning goal against the “Greens”.
In the poll for 11888 MVP, Cimirot prevailed comfortably with 68,24% of the vote, leaving Dimitris Pelkas and Miguel Vítor behind him. During the month of February, the young Greek scored twice, while the feisty Portuguese defender helped PAOK a lot with his passion and consistency.
It was the second individual title for the Bosnian midfielder, who had also been voted 11888 MVP last December. His performances didn’t go unnoticed by the head coach of his national team who called him back to Bosnia side. But he got unlucky as he suffered an injury and his participation is still in doubt.
Read in the second issue of Toumba Magazine a feature about Cimirot’s life story.
