U20s comfortably prevail over Asteras
Being in complete control of the encounter, PAOK defeated Asteras Tripolis 3-0 in Nea Mesimvria for matchday 24 of the U20 Super League.
The team needed twenty minutes to get into synch and start combining in attack. In the other end of the pitch however, they didn’t leave any space open and managed to strangle Asteras’ effort. In the last quarter of the first half, the “Double-Headed Eagle” broke free and took the reins.
In the 29th minute, PAOK were awarded a penalty and Pozoglou converted it. Breaking the deadlock, the home players felt released and increased their lead through a fine individual effort by Mattheou. In the 35th minute they had two (!) shots on woodwork through Ktistopoulos and Mattheou.
The pace dropped after the second half without many chances, but with PAOK still on the driver’s seat. Rangelov failed to score in the 70th minute, but one minute later Kushta made it 3-0 to seal his side’s victory. That would remain the final result of the encounter against Asteras Tripolis, who didn’t create any danger, apart from a long-range shot in the 80th minute that went wide.
