Let’s start remembering the goals on chronological order. In January, Stefanos Athanasiadis scored a delightful volley to seal home victory over Platanias, teed up with a pinpoint pass by Giannis Skondras.
Skondras was in creating form in February as well, when he served Christian Noboa. The latter unleashed an exquisite volley to beat the goalkeeper of Veria.
In March, it was Skondras’s turn to score. He completed a fine individual play with a neat finish in Leoforos.
In April, Ergys Kace scored the best goal of the month. The game at Corfu remained deadlocked until the 83rd minute. The Albanian midfielder decided the encounter with an unstoppable direct free kick, the ball first hitting the woodwork before resting at the back of the net.
In the new season, Dimitris Pelkas scored a rare beauty. Mak fed him the ball and the young midfielder executed a perfectly weighed lob to stun fans and… teammates as well.
In September, Pelkas assumed the creating role and Mak provided the finish in a perfect example of team work.
Mak continued his scoring streak in October as well, netting a spectacular goal against a formidable rival. Borussia Dortmund experienced first-hand what Toumba is. Tziolis picked the Slovakian winger with a perfect cross and the latter fired a shot that left Weidenfeller helpless.
November belongs to Stefanos Athanasiadis, who “executed” Panthrakikos with a trademark goal. Skondras crossed, the captain controlled the ball with his chest and finished with a side shot.
Róbert Mak earned his third candidacy for goal of the year with a historic effort in a legendary ground. At “Signal Iduna Park”, PAOK recorded a memorable victory over Borussia Dortmund, with the Slovakian deciding the encounter. Mystakidis provided the defence-splitting pass and Mak broke free of Weidenfeller and sent the ball at the back of the net from an acute angle.
