«Everything will turn out fine»
Marin Leovac spoke to Novasports TV ahead of the encounter against Panathinaikos. Read what the Croatian player had to say about the upcoming Super League match and his own presence at PAOK.
On the encounter against Krasnodar and the aims of the “Double-Headed Eagle” in the UEFA Europa League:
«I am upset that we didn’t win, as we wanted to very much. It would ease our qualification to the next round. I believe however that in the end both teams were content to share the points from a tough encounter on a heavy pitch«.
On whether PAOK can record an away victory in Russia and all but secure their qualification to the knock-out stage:
«It all depends on the Russia match. We must win Qäbälä FC at home. We play much better at Toumba, but we have a chance to win the away match against Krasnodar«.
On whether he and his clubmates feel pressure to produce positive results:
«I am always pushing myself to do better. I want to win every game. I want to give everything on the pitch and in trainings. That’s how I am. It’s true that we haven’t had good results lately. We let many important points escape us, but I don’t feel pressured. We all want to win and I am sure that victories are just ahead«.
On the creation of a new team and his full adjustment to the side, that was held back because of his injury:
«I was unfortunate enough to join the team late, when their engagements were already underway. I had to enter into mode fast and learn the team and the characters of my teammates as quickly as possible. I played a few games and then got injured. I missed a whole month on the sidelines. However I believe that everything will turn out fine. My teammates are excellent and the team does well and is improving. There won’t be any problem«.
On Panathinaikos and his countrymen Mladen Petrić and Danijel Pranjić:
«I have only positive things to say about them. Pranjić and I play together in the national team and he is a great guy. I don’t know Petrić personally, but he has played for Hamburger SV and in England for years, he is a very good player. I watched Panathinaikos play against Qäbälä in the video sessions ahead of our match in Azerbaijan. They have quality players and Berg is very dangerous in the box. They are a very good team. They also have the advantage of having fresh legs, as opposed to us who play every three days. It’s a tough match for us«.
