«Win in our own style»

The “Double-Headed Eagle” return to action with their visit to Kaftanzoglio for matchday 7 of the Super League. Igor Tudor spoke about the encounter against Iraklis to Novasports TV. Here is what the Croatian coach said:

16.10.2015

On the international break and how his team took advantage of it:

«It’s always difficult to handle the international breaks. Some footballers don’t play, some play a lot, training there is different and they are not with their clubmates. There are always some problems. We were lucky to have all our players complete their engagements by Monday. We worked together for the whole week and that’s good. We will be ready, as we had the opportunity to do three-four strong session –and that, in my book, is positive«.

On whether trainings are different and on the element that his team focuses most nowadays:

«Our training philosophy remains invariable since the start of the season. If intensity is needed in the game, then training sessions should be intense all week. I am happy with my players’ trainings. I watch them apply everything I am asking and improve with each training –that is the most important«.

On the injured players returning to action and on the injuries sustained by Kitsiou and Konstantinidis, that created a problem on the right wing:

«Injuries are a problem. But we have the players to cover for the absences, especially now that we will be facing 7-8 games with just four days in between them. It won’t be easy, but we have several players to handle the situation. Kitsiou will be absent for just 7 days, so he will back shortly. Leovac is ready, as well as Antonis, and we also have Rodrigues and Jairo who can feature on the wings. They will all be getting time on the pitch in the next three weeks. Cimirot will be absent for a while longer as he is still facing some problems, but I hope that he will join full trainings next week«.

On Iraklis and on the way he expects his team to play in order to achieve their goals:

«I am familiar with the style of our opponents, having watched several of their matches. It’s a good and compact team. Being a local derby, it creates special circumstances. We want to win on Sunday, we will be there to play our game and achieve it. We want to be attack-minded, impose our game and will not change our style«.
