Alexandros Tziolis and Stelios Kitsiou, the latter making his Greece debut, played all 90 minutes against Romania. Already eliminated from the Euro 2016 finals, Greece held to a goalless draw in Bucharest, earning their third point in the qualifiers but with no victory yet to show for.

Greece U21s started their qualifying campaign in the European Championship qualifiers on the right foot, prevailing 2-0 away over Liechtenstein.Dimitris Konstantinidis, Giannis Mystakidis and Κyriakos Savvidis were in the starting line-up. The former played all 90 minutes and the latter two competed for 67 and 84 minutes respectively.

Róbert Mak started the encounter of Slovakia against Ukraine in Žilina, created significant danger upfront but failed to score. The 0-0 draw between the two sides hands Slovakia a clear advantage over Ukraine in their quest to clinch second place and qualify automatically for the France finals. Eric Sabo remained on the bench.

Ergys Kace’s Albania didn’t make it against Fernando Santos’ Portugal. The midfielder of PAOK didn’t play and watched from the bench as Miguel Veloso netted a late winner to consolidate Portugal’s first place with 15 points. Albania are third with 11 points, trailing second-placed Denmark by one.

Robin Olsen was an unused sub in Sweden’s 1-4 home loss to Austria. The Scandinavians are third, but even play-off participation isn’t secure as Montenegro is trailing by just one point.

Marin Leovac’s Croatia lost to Norway and failed to hold on to second place as their opponents of the day leapfrogged them and have a one-point advantage over them.

For matchday 2 of the Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifying stage, Cape Verde recorded their second victory prevailing over Libya in Egypt, with Gary Rodrigues playing all 90 minutes.
