Internationals’ report [Part 1]

PAOK internationals played their first matches and paokfc.gr present their achievements and the schedule of remaining fixtures.

06.09.2015

Alexandros Tziolis started in Greece’s debacle against Finland and was among the few who stood out. He was a leader in midfield and tried to push the team forward, but the attacking line of the team was totally off. Stelios Kitsiou remained on the bench and didn’t make his senior international debut. Greece have been mathematically eliminated from Euro 2016 finals.

Slovakia travelled to Oviedo aiming to secure at least a point that would keep them in the driver’s seat. The Spaniards however prevailed 2-0 and took command of the section. Róbert Mak was in the starting line-up and played for the first half. He could have been a hero for his country, but his close range shot after Sergio Ramos’ turnover went wide. Erik Sabo came off the bench in the 73rd minute, when everything was already decided.

Ergys Kace was an unused sub in Copenhagen, where Albania held Denmark to a goalless draw and remained on course for the second spot of the group and an automatic qualification.

Robin Olsen didn’t participate in Sweden’s loss to Russia which could prove harmful for the Scandinavian team. The Russians reduced their distance from second place to just one point.

Marin Leovac didn’t get to play in Croatia’s goalless draw at Azerbaijan. The “Valtreni” remained at the top of the section, but have been joined by Italy who just edged out a 1-0 win over Malta.
