Vote for August MVP
PAOK was on full activity in August, with matches both in the Super League and the UEFA Europa League. You now have the opportunity to pick your MVP of the month through paokfc.gr’s poll.
Róbert Mak could not but be the first candidate. He paved the way for PAOK’s qualification to the UEFA Europa League group stage with his near-perfect performance in the first leg against Brøndby IF. In 90 minutes the Slovakian international netted a hat-trick and provide two assists. What more could a coach need from his attacking player, especially when he is not a central forward?
Alexandros Tziolis is also competing for the MVP title. PAOK skipper is a tower of strength on the pitch, consistent and experienced to mark the team’s pace, while he also has the quality to lead his teammates initiating play from the back. For yet another season, he will be the team’s backbone.
The third and final candidate spot goes to Dimitris Konstantinidis who just edged out July MVP Dimitris Pelkas because of more matches played. Pelkas was the best creative player of the “Double-Headed Eagle” during August and scored a screamer against Brøndby IF, but he missed the league opener against SKODA Xanthi and the second leg versus the Danes through injury, that also deprives him of collecting a second consecutive MVP of the month award.
Konstantinidis scored the decisive goal against FC Spartak Trnava and lined up some memorable performances on the right wing. His improvement since midseason last year has been spectacular.
Vote in paokfc.gr’s poll and decide who was PAOK’s top player in August.
