PAOK U15s win Rostov tournament
They played their football, won all their matches and enjoyed their trip to Rostov for the “Viktor Ponedelnik” tournament, while earning valuable experience and having a trophy to show for.
PAOK U15s won the tournament at Rostov, defeating all their rivals. They returned to Thessaloniki with three more distinctions, as Giorgos Vrakas was voted tournament MVP, Angelos Moutzouris won best defender accolade and Alexis Alexiadis was voted best coach.
On opening day of the tournament, PAOK prevailed 4-1 over FC Anzhi Makhachkala, courtesy of goals by Vrakas (2), Voutas and Moutzouris. On the following day, the “Double-Headed Eagle” thrashed FC Krasnodar 5-0, with Moutzouris, Vrakas (2) and Pournaras (2) on the scorers’ sheet. They then defeated Viktor Ponedelnik Academy 1-0, thanks to a strike by Boubas. In their last match, PAOK comfortably dispatched Rostov 5-0, Vrakas, Macheridis, Atmatzidis, Pournaras and Papadopoulos netting the goals.
