Here is what the Croatian coach said ahead of the Super League opener.

A new coach in a new league. What are your thoughts and aspirations ahead of the Super League start?

«I can’t wait for the league to start. I am very excited. We have an important match ahead and it’s always important to start well. We have been working for 45 days now«.

What are the main problems you face? The unknown league? The recent signings?

«None of that. I am focused on my work. I believe we are doing a good job and I am satisfied with my players. The newcomers need to adjust to their new surroundings but that is my job. It’s not easy. We definitely need time, but I believe I have clever players who can learn quickly. I expect us to continue our good performances, but it won’t be easy as Xanthi are a very good side. We will do our best and I believe we will clinch victory«.

Do you believe that your work and the character you convey to the team are what attracts the fans to Toumba?

«Hopefully fans will like what they see. I enjoy this atmosphere and I hope that will be the case in every game. It’s ideal for the players, they feel the pulse, it’s an extra boost for them. We hope that we will satisfy our fans through our matches, our heart, our running and our tactics«.

Can we expect a different line-up against SKODA Xanthi with comparison to the Brøndby IF game?

«I don’t comment about such things. These are issues for the dressing rooms. Newcomers will join the squad, as they are ready to help us. There will be new faces in our match«.
