Pelkas’ and Olsen’s post-match reaction

PAOK players were disappointed with the defeat but optimistic for the second leg after the final whistle at Zagreb. Dimitris Pelkas and Robin Olsen talked to media representatives in the stadium of NK Lokomotiva.

17.07.2015

The young midfielder, who got to wear PAOK’s shirt for the first time after two seasons, said the following:

«Our team couldn’t run as in preseason and friendlies. Next week we aim to turn this result over in Toumba. NK Lokomotiva created two chances and scored twice. We wasted opportunities and couldn’t run. In the interval we were talking about the overwhelming heat –the change in temperature was huge.

Due to fatigue, we were not clear-headed. Everything will change, I believe that. Our fans want us to win such games and that is normal. We want their support, we don’t like what happened tonight and will do the best to change this. I wasn’t expecting such a game, I thought we would win«.

Here are the quotes of the Swedish goalkeeper, who made his official debut for PAOK:

«Things were tough today, especially for all outfield players who had to run. It’s difficult to come from the Netherlands and play here with this heat.

Perhaps we didn’t perform as we could due to that heat. Fatigue is a factor in this stage and you witnessed that in the second half. We couldn’t play as we wanted and our opponents became dangerous while we were trying to change that 2-0 against us.

I hope that things will be better next week. In the seven days ahead, I believe that we will adapt better to weather conditions and will improve our performance«.
