Attacking moves and positioning

The toughest part of preseason training is conveying Igor Tudor’s philosophy to the players. That is why PAOK coach is insisting a lot on tactics.

30.06.2015

Tuesday’s training session focused on the way the team needs to move in order to create opportunities to score.

Through drills of ball circulation and transition from defence to attack, as well as a training match, the technical staff of PAOK tried to teach the players their moves when attacking and their positioning on the pitch.

Igor Tudor is aware that the new elements he wants to implement will be adopted gradually through daily work. That is why he insists on his tactics and repeats them with every chance he gets. The coach of PAOK and his assistants are satisfied with the players’ response and effort in these first trainings of the season.

Lucas Pérez was Tuesday’s newcomer. He returned to Thessaloniki and started training. He followed a special adaptation program and will undergo medical and ergometrics tests on Wednesday. Dimitris Konstantinidis continued his recovery program.

The second (and last) group of players went through ergometrics on Tuesday, while the rest engaged in physical condition training and explosiveness drills under the guidance of Paolo Artico.

On Wednesday morning, a group of players will train at Toumba Stadium. There is a training session scheduled on 18.00 for the whole team in the stadium. Afterwards Igor Tudor will announce the list of players who will travel to the Netherlands on Thursday for the main preseason stage.

PAOK FC president Iakovos Angelidis and Sports Director of the club Frank Arnesen attended Tuesday’s session, held under winter weather conditions.
